Henry Onyekuru

I really don't understand him leaving Anderlecht. He only had to finish this year to get an EU passport

They burnt their bridge with him over their handling of his injury and comeback, which basically robbed him of a chance of playing in the World Cup, which subsequently would have seen him arrive here last summer, he's been getting regular game time for both Nigeria and Galatasaray this season so it should finally go through for his work permit this summer

he played aganist benfica in europa league tho. is that a mickey mouse competition as well?

i know its a joke but it saddens me theres a few lads in here think that way
No, I've watched him and the Turkish league. I honestly have nothing to say about him - it's really strange...he's effective, he gets in the right place and scores a bit, he shows the occassional move with the ball, the occassional flash of skill, but he's just effective. I honestly cannot think of who he reminds me of. He's super fast, but you don't see him show it that often.

One thing about the Turkish league, although the overall quality is not consistently good, this isn't a league of a bunch of kids. There are lots of veterans and older players in the league with tremendous experience. It's physical, and the crowd environments in the bigger clubs just look insane. I honestly think it's pretty entertaining.

My local shop owner is a Turkish lad who supports Galatasaray and he thinks Henry is good but very selfish, he laughed at how much we paid for Tosun, hmmm.

I am also a Galatasaray fan, so i watched Onyekuru live throughout this season and can easily asses his strengths and weaknesses for Everton.

pro's:

-decent finishing ability despite being used on the wing.
-good technique and dribbling
-very good pace, infact this is the best thing about him.

con's:
-decisions: his final decision is really poor. he shoots when he needs to pass and pass when he rather needs to shoot.
(he is also VERY selfish which sometimes drives you mad, despite playing on the wing, he has 0 assists)
-consistency: this is maybe the biggest negative thing about him.. one week you'll think he is better then messi, then next week you'll even be surprised he made it to be a professional football player.
-strength:he is a tiny guy, dont expect him to hold the ball for you.

final note
7.5/10

Onyekuru is one of those guys that would dominate the Dutch league for example but anything higher, especially the EPL, i really am not sure if he is up for it.
his consistency and other mental weaknesses will be huge undermining factor for his development as a football player.
Despite his good stats, he really didnt impress Gala fans that much, Gala will probably will not seek to renew his loan deal, and that alone should tell you how ready he is for EPL challenge.

How many goals has he scored in that poor league??

And yet they weirdly keep starting him in their CL knock-out games.
