By all accounts he was nailed on for their World Cup squad... before he got injured.
He’d have been starting for them at the World Cup if it wasn’t for his injury
Yeah I know.

It's why I don't really understand all the worry about a work permit. If he performs for his club he'll get in the Nigerian team. That will help our argument for a work permit. I still don't think he'll automatically qualify but if he plays 75% of Internationals this season, we can put it before the panel that his injury prevented him playing in the build up to and at the world cup. If he's as good as we think he is then he should get in their team. His age (only just turned 21) will also work in his favour too.

How did Cuco Martina get a work permit? He probably isn't even the best right-back in Cucacao or wherever he is from....
I may be wrong but Curacao is classed as a Dutch region as its part of the old Netherland Antilles
He was born in the Netherlands and probably qualifies for Curacao via his parents. He just wasn't good enough to play for the Netherlands so played for Curacao, like 70% of african players being actually French/Belgian.

You defo Google'd that lad lol
Actually, i did not, i am a ham radio operator (i know an anorak) so I guessed I was right, or on the other hand, I could have been completely wrong as usual . That's why I called it the Netherland Antilles as that is what it is still referred to in Radio land lol

Comments like these annoy me, the lad looks decent, hes scored goals in some half decent leagues, we have a decent prospect, if he stays injury free and keeps scoring goals you would assume he might possibly get a work permit next season, we can then take a look at the boy and judge then if hes able to do it in this league.

It doesnt have to be him or DCL, its not DCLs fault hes here and Henry isnt.

Every manager we have had has given DCL considerable game time, sure the lads a bit raw, but they must see enough talent to keep picking him, so lets wait and see what the season brings for DCL and then in about 5 or 6 years we can judge which 1 of them is the better player.
You've said every manager has given him reasonable game time and he's yet to really light the pitch on fire. He gets time because the club in all its wisdom sold our best ever striker without getting one or two more in. Thus having to give him reasonable time on the pitch. Glad the managers see something because as a spectator I'm not seeing a goal hungry, goal scoring forward.

No, im not myself.

Im not convinced by him at all myself, but hes a very young lad, who is highly rated by people in the game that know more than me and you.

As I say, lets see what the season brings before we utterly write him off.
