Yeah, don't see the point of it if we are trying to get him to come over here. Of course, the Bundesliga is a much better league but the end goal is to get him a passport to be able to play in England.
By the time he gets a Belgian passport, the UK is meant to have left the EU, so he may still require a work permit depending on what rules are introduced.

If that’s the case then the Premier league is in for a major shock.
I personally believe there is too much money involved for Brexit to have any major impact on the way PL clubs do buisness
It may affect signing under 18s but that’s about it.
There again no one knows what way Brexit will pan out , not even Teresa May

Whats the point of him going to Germany if for a work permit isn't it 3 years in Belgium contenuiously? Better to send him to another club there?

It wasnt about him getting a European passport, if he hadn't have got injured he would have played enough games for Nigeria to Qualify for a Permit.

AFCON in June next year.
Still in the qualifying stage. So those qualifying games(if he plays) and the tournament itself (of Nigeria qualify) I would guess should be enough for him to get a permit for next season should we not get one now.

I dont understand how we cant get him on the special talent rule. For the fee we paid and the fact that he's made multiple appearances in the Champions League, how is he not allowed a permit. Its stupid really.

The fee wasnt in the top 25% of fees at the time so doesnt qualify.

Watford managed it with Richarlison somehow.

Larger transfer fee and Brazilian so the criteria is far lower than for Onyekuru as Nigeria are in the lowest category for dispensation due to their position in the world rankings.

That's mental, so the entire premise is made to benefit only the big clubs?
