We need a Guide to Liverpool drawing up. Basically, a resource for visitors coming to Liverpool with details of hotels (Already done), transport, restaurants, pubs and clubs, attractions, events, gigs etc. You get the idea...

Anyone up for doing a section? Rather than soft arse here doing it all.

Few sections in mind;

Arriving (Air/Sea/Train details)
Accommodation - Already have this done.
Getting around the city (So transport details etc)
Getting to the Ground. (soccerbus, trains, bus)
Goodison Tour (Details...)
Pubs around the ground (As brief as you like...)
Other Stuff to do in the City (Theatres etc)
Landmarks (So the Tower....)
Eating Out (Restaurants)

.... Anything a visitor arriving to Liverpool to watch Everton may find useful.

We are planning to come up in May/June, and we would be interested in reading the 'Eating Out' section.

The kind folk on here did themselves proud suggesting good resturants and bars for our visit last September.

Exactly why we're going to provide a Visitors Section (y)

There's some great studenty bars down Hardman Street

Couple of my faves are

1. The Flute - Hardman Street
Great staff-very friendly, Live sports, great atmosphere, they have a regular DJ, and live bands, a lot of cover bands but also a lot of student bands doing their own stuff..and me of course when I'm in town.

2. Magnet - Hardman Street
Again another studenty bar, but a little more up-market, toned down mood lighting, american style booths, good food and great music, latin, soul, jazz and funk, but all toned in with the surroundings - very trendy yet away from all the crap, stag/hen party trash in the town center.
Oh and me again of course when I'm in town

give them a chance to see the Beatles story, the Cavern Club, Maritime Museum, Royal Liver building, both Cathedrals and any such places of note.

I was so tempted to say 'give a sharp look out for lids, bad bells, melts and belters' but thought better of it.

Damn too late.

Still an interesting and vibrant City.

avoid FACT (just off Bold Street) and The A Foundation (by where Norton for scrap was on the Docks) unless they have a particular interest in Video Installations, awful ones at that!
