Only just saw this! - been here for about a week now.

Loving it here already - top bantz. and good knowledge everyone :)

I've kinda just told my sob story on the 'why are you a blue' thread, but I'm from Macclesfield and been going to Goodison for 27 years now. Dad's a Blue so I was born into it.

Been to a fair few away games but not a regular, just when I can.

I only just thought of going on the forums instead of reading football news all the time like I do and talking football with mates. I think it's this transfer window that's made me do it. As you know, we never count chickens when it's Everton, but my obsession just moved up from 'unhealthy' to 'probably fatal' this summer.

Then we went and signed Samuel F----g Eto'o...FFS.

Sheesh, the mods are falling asleep at the wheel here. Warm greetings on behalf of GOT, chum. For the first two weeks, you will be assigned a Spirit Guide. In this instance, it will be me, and I can only assure you that you haven't drawn the short straw. @Bungle has guided many a spirit into cavernous oblivion, some even think he's a door-to-door salesman for Satan. A few tips to get you started:

1: Make sure if you have to use the words "pineapple" and "pizza", that they are at least four threads apart at all times. I just broke that rule there, but I can because I'm a maverick.

2: We have made six signings this summer, two of whom we had last season. There's 44,064 posts in our summer transfers thread. If you're thinking that it doesn't add up, it's because it doesn't. Everything in that thread is a poisonous lie and it will steal weeks from your life. Swerve.

3: Read @chicoazul's match reports. I have begun to suspect that this forum is just an elaborate confidence building excercise for Chico and every 'like' gives him one more day on this earth. The match reports are nonsense, but he picks a mean photograph.

4: After one week, you will have to submit a list of your favourite mods in order from favourite to least, so pay attention to how they operate. TheEsk is a bit liberal with the hammer so watch out for hiiiiII SAID TOO MUCH, RUN!! I'LL BE BACK AS A MULTIIIIIIIIIIIII

Nice to meet you mate, even though in all likelihood you've been here longer than I have!

And you have certainly been an Evertonian longer than I have!!

Doesn't matter how long mate - we're not like Man U fans trying to prove something - once Everton chooses you, you're in.

No worries mate - I dunno how helpful I was to be honest! Like I said I lived there for a few years so know it really well if anyone wants any info. It's a brilliant city - can't wait to get down there again.

You reckon I should start a thread and post some info and have a Q&A kinda thing? Travel, Hotels, Bars etc?

Don't wanna seem all cocky like, but I do know Lille really well, I lived and worked there from early 2010 to late 2012.

I dunno - I'm new here but it might be helpful

Well in for starting the thread Jim, I'm sure plenty of people will make use of your local knowledge.

Usual protocol is to run new thread ideas past @Tubey for approval but I'm sure he'll let this one slide.
