Player Valuation: £50k
its been i strange summer so far in the land of everton fc , no signing as yet and 2 first teamers sold , now last year we were a very small team with most under 6 ft tall , am i the only 1 finding it wierd that every rumour target player is also a tidler , im not looking forward to playing villa and portsmouth next year as the lump it forward teams could show us up at the moment , i may be wrong but im sure moyes has gone public with the lack of height in our team. would love the new carsley to be a 6,2 plus player but who

Aslong as our defence are tall, solid and good jumers (which they are) i odnt mind. We had one strong player in the midfield last time, and with upgraded quality of moutinho and/or fernandes we dont need height, passing is the key, just look at arsenal.

I think we'll have Yobo, Lescott, M'Bia and Yakubu next season who are all tall players. Getting M'Bia in will allow us to play with Baines and Cahill aerial ability makes up for his height.

The height issue is only really at set pieces. With 4/5 aerially strong players in the team we'll be fine.

Im all for Tim Cahill mowing down the big boys, remember him playing against Pompey at home this year, he single handly hammered, Bouba Diop, Diarra and Multari, class!

He was class against Portsmout, really up for it and gave us alot of drive. Osman despite his lack of size was also quality, his quick feet where to fast for the likes of Diarra, Diop and Muntari.

I was proud after that game, our midget gems battled through.

We need a big man in midfield for tactical reason, don't get me wrong, our midget gems are great players, but sometimes they will struggle with a taller team.

He mowed them down mate, Cahill was everywhere hes a terrier! Before the match when i saw the teams, i thought sh"t! In many ways his midfield work is underatted because he is such a goal scoring threat. Im many ways i felt our decline toward the end of the season was a large degree due to the loss of Cahill's tenacity, drive! You here a lot of people talk about midfielders who can control the tempo of the game, well Cahill speeds it up and creates our tone and tempo in any single game, we miss that when hes not playing. You never really realise how much we miss untill hes not in the team.

Ossie was great that day too!

I just hope he gets a full season under his belt, if he does we've got a chance at the top four.

To be honest, I think Vaughan would be a good deputy for Cahill, he also has that drive, determination and tenacity. Obviously he's a striker but when Tim's out I'd like to see him take over. Both have winning mentality's which is very important.

Imagine coming up against Vaughan and Cahill in the same team, that would be scary. If Yak needed a rest or got a knock I'd be confident of them two leading the line.

Should try convince the board to go after some of these guys then...
