Anyone ever see this? Drama around a surfer family who are visited by a weird angel(?) character. Not sure it was aired in the UK. I got hold of a DVD box set. The Americanos will have seen it.

Weirdest 10 episodes I've seen since Twin Peaks. Funny at times though. And it had the attraction of having Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros' Johnny Appleseed as the theme.

I remember it, but never got around to watching it. HBO stuff is top shelf. Can't wait for "Boardwalk Empire" to start in a few weeks. Steve Buscemi is one of my favorite actors of all time. Written by Terence Winter (Sopranos) and Directed by Scorcese.

Apart from Band of Bros I've never been keen on HBO stuff. Six Foot Under and The Wire left me cold. I'll have to look out for Boardwalk Empire and give it a fair go.

Buscemi: two words: Ghost World. The man's a genius. Probably enjoyed his performance in that more than his Donny character in Lebowski.

Just getting round to seeing Nurse Jackie over here - which he directed. Quite good.

Yeah Ghost World is a vastly underrated little film. I thought his arc on Sopranos was A+ stuff on an already fantastic show.

You didn't like "The Wire"? Honestly it's not a show I watched, but everyone I talk to raves about it so it's on my list.

It's not an HBO show, do you guys get "Mad Men" over there? It's on a network called "AMC" over here along with a couple other shows that are out of this world..."Breaking Bad" and a new one called "Rubicon" which is great. Mad Men is a breathtakingly good show about an advertising agency in the early 60's http://www.amctv.com/

Mad Men's been on for the past year or two here. Not that I've seen it like. Gets great reviews.
