It's not easy to come into a team where you are expected to fill the shoes of Cesc Fabregas. Whilst not in that class, he has the ability to open up defences and score goals. That said he's not a bad replacement and showed his class for Arsenal's third goal.

Did you know? Since arriving at Arsenal he has made the most passes per 90 minutes of any Premier League player (79.6) and has created the most chances in the PL this season for the Gunners (20).

*Can't stop sobbing*

It's the way we set out our team which is why we're struggling to score goals, you can't blame it all on the strikers.

Reasons we struggle to score;

Lack of numbers in the box when we attack, normally just whoever the poor sod is upfront on his own vs 2 centre backs.

We take forever to move the ball forward so the other team always has loads of players back to defend.

Lack of quality crosses from our wingers.

Lack of creativity in midfield.

The worth of any striker can only be judged in relation to the quality of service in to him and tbh Hernandez would struggle to score in our team.

Moyes has always tried to keep us tight at the back and stop the opposition from playing first and worry about scoring goals afterwards. I think if we played with 2 upfront we'd score more goals.

Agree to a point, we could definately get more players forward at times and we do lack creativity in midfield, however Saha is not fit most of the time, Anichebe is just not fit at any time, Vellios is still learning, Stracqualaski is just not fit/good enough and Cahill is only a makeshift Striker when he is called upon, It does not look good at the moment and I do disagree about Hernandez he would score goals for us.

and supporters said he was sh.t and get rid he had his day i rather have him on one leg than look at osman
and Neville and McFadden in a Everton shirt

I think the difference between Arteta now at Arsenal and with Arteta in the past with Everton is that he has players around him who actually move around the pitch and create chance, run into channels etc. While he did occassionally pick up the reins here, he is far too easy to mark/play hard against when you know he is the only outlet for creativity. And we mostly just stand around looking dumbfounded at the moment.

Very true, we would have got far more out of him in the last season or two if we didn't stagnate so much

Yes, and it's making me feel very sad.

Sometimes also just need to change things up. I hate to say it, but fresh air sometimes brings about change. It has for him...

It always made me laugh when people were ****ging him off for passing sideways and never thought the problem was nobody was moving into space infront of him. he miust think he is in heaven at arsenal were the players are encouraged to express themselves and attack.

Maybe but the rest of the team need to get their JCB's out and start digging up some trees. Mucha - making mistakes that cost goals, Hibbert - too often out of position - costing goals, Jags - too many errors, Heitinga - see Jags, Baines - going missing in futile missions further upfield, Fellaini - not doing anything more than adequate. Osman - not enough of a contribution, Cahill - barely fit & forced to play for the lack of an alternative... No Arteta, Pienaar, Yak (when he could score), Beckford - all gone.. thank heavens we've got a week off to try & forget about it.

To answer the original posters question, I'd say Wigan had a weaker attack than us, but no-one else!

think Hugo Rodallega would get in are team, di santos and moses arnt to bad not much in it really an on form/fit saha would be the pick of the bunch but how often is that, but are other strikers really arntl are better than theres
