For someone wanting to join GOT. Is this a new thing and how does it work?

Apparently now when you register there is a box where you fill on a referrers name, it won't let you go further if you don't.

But how are people able to find a referee. Dodgy this mate.......

if you don't know anybody on GOT you can't get a ref so he is doing something wrong. ask him for £25 via paypal or give him niks details.
