Has it all gone a bit wrong?

Moyes' last pre-season:

Malaga - L
AEK - W
Blackpool - L
Razgrad - D
Motherwell - D
Dundee - W
Morecambe - W

You must have been s**tting it last summer if you have concerns after beating Juventus, Blackburn, and Accrington Stanley and losing 2-1 to Real Madrid and 1-0 to Valencia.

I'm more concerned with our defence than the results to be fair, thanks for your fact finding mission though.

Our defence under Moyes shipped 2 goals against Blackpool and conceded against Malaga, Motherwell, and Razgrad (who?).

Fair play. We're never going to be fully switched on defensively during pre-season. The main difference for me has been that Moyes would have everyone back behind the ball whereas Martinez seems happy to leave players upfield. So it's less goals against Real Madrid than Chelsea conceded versus the same number of goals against Blackpool with a more defensive lineup.

Why are some people always looking for the negative. We've more transfers in the window than we have in the last ten years - a new link with Barca rather than buying off the seconds from Man U - and should've beat Real. Meanwhile 30 miles away Moyes is making a complete **** of himself. Give the lad a chance.

We should have just played Accrington Stanley 6 times as a pre-season prep. Then the moaning might cease (probably not though). Honestly, some EFC fans are just whinging poms (as we say in NZ).
Can we at least give RM a chance before all the armchair/couch potato crtics rip into him?

I mean, when does blindly shouting down all critiscm get silly?

"How DARE you have a go at Martinez for us being bottom of the table when he's only had half a season in the job!"

"How DARE you have a go at Martinez for us losing to Liverpool 4-0 when it's only his first Derby!"

"How DARE you have a go at Martinez for selling Fellaini and buying 7 Wigan players. Wigan only went down because these players didn't play that much last season anyway!"

"How DARE you have a go at Martinez for us getting relegated for the first time since the 1950's when he's only had one season in the job!"

And so forth

When will it be okay to criticise him? Can someone send me a memo when it's okay? Cheers lads

Very child like.

Blimey.......what a Sad Sack you are.

Mikey_F's alright like lids ffs.
But seriously Mikey, at least give him the benefit of the doubt for at least one competitive game. For how many seasons were we watching us lose/draw loads (and the games themselves were utter tripe) at the beginning of a season, and yet we still gave our support to the previous manager?
And yet some of us are whinnying and criticising a new manager acquainting himself with a new club and team that's had it's critical staff (and maybe players) cherry-picked.
One poor performance in our last game against respectable opponents and Martinez' recruitment so far seem to be the only reasons for this criticism. Let's see what happens in the league, maybe Kone will come good, nobody knows yet, but irrespective, coyb's ffs!
And ultimately the REAL pressure's on the one who appointed Martinez IF it doesn't work out.
