Germans have a lot of respect for England IMO. I think at the same time as them laughing at our ineptitude, they sort of want us to do well too, and there is a lot of respect left over for the teams of the 90s that ran them close. When tournaments are going on we are probably the country their pundits talk about most (along with Holland). Deffo not a one-sided rivalry.
