Nothin to get worked up over. Its odd to get so entrenched over such a small thing. How can you "intend" to handball when jumping up in the air to head a ball out of the area? It would be odd for the player to know they were going to make a complete hash of the header....no?

The penalty actually given was subjective though as I am not sure mascherano did enough for the player to go down like that.....but I'd still blame him and understand the peno being given because he has been stupid enough to grab the player in that way. Be good if VAR helps remove that form of "cheating" by defenders along with helping to sort out diving.

Looking at the state of him during the game I think we all can guess why he’s unwell and it’s almost certainly related to your first paragraph , I do think unwell probably needs air quotes around it . So I don’t think lineker should feel too bad about having a little pop .

it was decent, good goal, but is being talked about like it was at the level of bergkamp vs argentina, a million miles away from that sort of quality, a nice goal but the usual hyperbole
