Ok, lets ask the alternate question, would you be prepared to sacrifice Goodison and any stadium with a unique, blue, "homely" feel, if it meant much more money for the club and thus, better players and a better team (and potentially more interest from investors) ?

I often wonder if people would be arsed enough to protest and boycott said stadium if the powers that be just said "to hell with it !, it makes sense in every way we care about, lets do it". I don't think we'd have much choice and people would soon get on board with the idea if they knew it was coming.

Look at the Allianz Arena in Munich, it changes colour scheme when 1860 play there, and again when Bayern are there. The seats rotate between red and blue to give the stadium a different feel. I love Goodison but i honestly wouldn't care less where i watched Everton, whether it be in a muddy field, or a shared ground. If it gives us more money and improves the team, i'm all for it.

Better stadium for both teams, and one of the best stadiums in the uk? Cheaper? Yes please...

...Works for Inter, works for Bayern.

Whats the disadvantage exactly?

Except it doesn't. Bayern Munich bought full rights a few years ago. 1860 effectively rent the space and have no stadium of their own - a possibility that might befall us if we ever get relegated given the financial tightrope we walk. The situation at Milan is a different animal due to both being giant clubs.

An absolute no from me. The council can't be trusted and as they'd need to be central in this sort of venture it kills the thing in the water.

Live together or die alone for me. Transport links would be improved, high spec stadium, less debt.

No would never support it.

Anyone claiming it makes sense and its a good idea hasn't got a clue about what moving into either a council owned or part owned stadium could mean.

Ground sharing is a pig of an idea

Oh and the good news is LFC arnet interested the yanks want to renovate the tin mine.

FINE BY US.

It forces the LAZY, RISKY and plain long term BAD IDEA out the window.

And this lazy board have to think of other options or sell up.

It also means our fans don't get suckered into this LAZY option because they mistakenly think its a good idea.

If its such a good idea why are italian clubs moving away from shared stadia?(Inter, lazio, and others)

Munich 1860 wouldn't say its a good idea either. They say its hard for them to create atmosphere.

We need a PURPOSE BUILT STADIA FOR EFC

Not Lfc

head says it makes financial sense- a 75000 seater would be filled most weeks more money, heart says hell no let the ****e rot in there own faeces.
with regards to LCC it wouldnt necessarily have to involve them, if you could get Tesco or Sainsbury (or other huge supermarket) chain on board you could go to town with a super entertainment complex.
the only way to get financial investment these days for stadiums is to get in bed with major retail sad but true. LCC dont have the monetary muscle to get in with the big boys of retail. speaking of which surprisingly the largest is M&S. if the board have any sense they would get tesco and M&S round the table and go down that road. in built hotels, retail stores and multiplex cinemas etc. (remembere the plans for kings dock?

Italian fans are moving away from it because they ****ing kill eachother all day long.

It would just end up being "LFC Stadium" and "Oh, Everton play there too, you know", most probably.

Let them give the tin mine a lick of paint.

I think if someone from the boards of both clubs and LCC can come up with a viable proposition which suits both clubs, has decent transport links and is a better option than we have aleady then i don't see why not. Home will stil be home Goodison will be remembered by those old enough and the new stadium will be the home of EFC for the new generation. The reason i think we should go ahead and share is because there does not appear to be 2 plots of land in Liverpool that are capable of building 2 stadia therefore sharing will be the one option which keeps both teams in the city.

a ground owned by LCC/A.N.OTHER(Tesco or M&S)
facilitated by hotel,leisure complex
on the river front , near city center
60,000+
unique design, incorperating a mueseum of local sport

yeah, i would think about that.

I dont buy that there are no plots of land for 2 stadiums! LCC just dont give a toss for us probably due to all the foreigners that come to watch the red shoit and spending there eoros in the city!

So, if the RS are upgrading Shoite Field, does that mean Stanley park is available????

I'd like to think so,but didnt we apply for stanley park in the 80's and got knocked back?
It would be fantastic to build a stadium that towered over analfield and call it ours but its never going to happen!
