The share option: Merseyside clubs urged to consider mutual benefits - Premier League, Football - The Independent

Thoughts?

Has a good breakdown on what Anfield and Goodison make per game compared to Old Trafford and the Emirates.

Everything for us seems hinged on the stadium IMO. Unless BK is shunning investors away, I dont think anyone is interested or think we're a big risk in the current climate.

But I do think the [Poor language removed] will get out of jail free with their loans in January. They generate massive worldwide revenue so someone or something will bail them out.

As for the shared stadium......I'm growing on the idea but there's far too many factors for it not too run smoothly. And also, how much would we stump up? If the [Poor language removed] put more money into it we'd be under their thumb.

Just generalising but if the idea for a shared stadium was a viable option, the only way that could work is if Liverpool City council owned and built it and both clubs would rent, taking whatever gate receipts/sponsorships etc. That's just off the top of me head.

I dont see why everyone is against it. Better stadium for both teams, arguably cheaper, For all we new Liverpool couldve played in our stadium when we were away at West Ham - IT doesnt matter, were not in the stadium at the same time.

Only draw back i can see is the colour of the seats. Probably Grey.

It makes financial sense but Everton Football Club would die in my eyes if we moved in with that lot, some things are more important than finances & the identity of Everton is definately 1 of those things, if we moved in with them we'd lose a huge part of our identity & it's not something I'd be happy to give up

Just being practical. How will a pitch stand up to two or more matches a week during cup runs fixture congestion etc with our weather?

If it was partly financed by the city and region

and if it was an equal share on all levels for both clubs

then it might be worth looking at.

But we all know that pigs will be flying before either of those happen.

So ---
We wouldnt want to groundshare with the [Poor language removed] due to "identity"
We dont want to go to Kirkby for the same reason plus other attributes (too lenghty to go into)

DK has been going on for over 3-4 years now, and will go on another year or so. IF we cant go its back to square one and waiting another 5 years to get a stadium.

Either the financial climate will change for the better and we get investors to help us out, or things stay the same and no one will be interested in us because we're too risky/not "fashionable"/Northern etc.

The way things are going we wont have any stadium ideas/groundwork anything for knowing on 10 years. The effects of this on the pitch and where the club will be in the league will be unknown.

Then its back to square one -- rebuild Goodison, find a location in the city.

Magic roundabout going round and round - do-dah-dah-do-dooooo

It seems to me that Harris cant find anyone interested IMO.

He might be Kenwright's bullshit mate, being a "smokescreen" Fortress fund rouse (as the davek universe suggests).

But to come out and say "I've made no progress" (then retract it on the back of some slapped wrists he probably got) then come out and say...."what about a groundshare?" just seems to me that no one wants to buy this club and its tough for him. the big factors of which that are putting people off -- new ground and the [Poor language removed] next door.

We are [Poor language removed] in other words.

This Keith Harris feller is a joke.

Groundshare? Thanks Keith, we hadn't thought of that. Good job we have you around for all these innovative ideas.
