I stopped reading other replies after seeing so many horrible versions of cheese on toast.

Cheese on toast is;

  • Thick sliced white bread.
  • Thick slices of mature cheddar (enough to cover every inch of the bread).
  • Worcestershire sauce (added before grilling the cheese and then a little extra after the grilling).

It should look like this, but with a bit more Worcestershire. I appreciate people have regional alternatives, but this is cheese on toast. Any other method is an interesting variant.

Brown sauce is acceptable, if Worcestershire Sauce is unavailable.

Can't believe I got my first ever neg rep on the subject of Cheese on Toast!

*cries quietly in the wind*

See, you can like Lennon, like Kenwright, and argue pretty much anything you like in the Everton forum and things will be let slide as you're a fellow Blue, but to not like Cheese On Toast is against the foundation of a decent human being!
