Ingrid bergman, great actress and stunnigly beautiful to boot. There's a bird in work who looks the spit of a young Ingrid, a'la casablanca days. If I had any chance at all I think my missus would be getting binned off for the beauty...

No black female actors on the poll...

Few notable absenses, imo:

Naomie Harris
Tilda Swinton
Judy Dench
Viola Davis
Octavia Spencer
Julie Walters
Julianne Moore
Maggie Smith
Ruth Negga

Gugu Mbatha-Raw as well - the best thing about every film she is in, has the greatest episode of Black Mirror there has ever been (San Junipero) under her belt and is genuinely mesmerizing on stage.

Great shout! Completely forgot about her. Have never seen her on stage but she was awesome in Belle and Beyond the Lights - two films that I admittedly might not have watched only for my wife wanting to see them. And San Junipero was sublime all round.

Really suprised at so many votes for Sigourney Weaver. Consistently good actor and charasmatic but far from the best female actor in the world. Especially when you compare her best work to the best work to others like Streep, Swinton, Dench, Moore etc...

Only seen her the once (Nell Gwynn at the Globe a couple of years ago), but spent the evening bewitched along with everyone else there. Belle is a fantastic film also.
