Player Valuation: Free Transfer
Hey all, for anyone that didn't see my previous thread, I'm heading over from the states to see my first EPL game in person in April, Toffees vs Fulham. Huge fan and psyched to see Everton in person!

I realize tickets don't go on sale for that game for some time but looking at seats where do I want to sit? I'm kind of thinking I want to be as close to the pitch as I can and am wondering what games are like in the Paddock and Family Enclosures? I noticed some of the first row seats are obstructed view?

Thanks for all the help!

Im sure theres no obstructed views in the Paddock just the lower bullens

If you want any type of atmosphere though sit in the Glwadys

If you're looking for halfway line-ish seats then try to not get too close the the bottom of the paddock, had my season ticket there Row 11 and that was fine, got a cup ticket in row 5 once and because of the bow in the field couldn't see sh*t on the other side or judge perspective well at all.

I think the define 'obstructed' as part of your view of the 6 yard box being obstructed.

For match experience, if you're coming all that way, best sit in the Lower Gwladys. Sit in the front half rather than the back half, otherwise you'll be stuck under the Upper Gwladys.

It's a bad view but, if you want to see it clearly watch it on TV later.

I find that the closer to the pitch you get , the less of the game you actually see,, just my personal preference but I prefer to be higher up and get a more panoramic view.

The first few rows of the family enclosure are so low you can't see the other Side of the pitch because of the curve. You need to be 4th row back if your in there, but the atmosphere is quite quiet.

Thanks everyone for the info. So don't judge but what I want is to be as close to the action as possible. Believe me I love atmosphere, I grew up watching baseball games in the bleachers at Fenway Park which is very much like Goodison. Lots of terrible views and obstructions, old old park, tons of history, etc. But for this trip the reality is I won't be back anytime soon so I want to be as much on the pitch as I can be and see the game up close. I can watch the game on tv here in the states and get the aerial or "perfect" view. But if I can't see the rest of the pitch in the front row then I should probably re-think that, I do want to at least see most of the action. Plus I'll be at the bar/pub early to get some of that atmosphere!

So if I'm gonna get a seat close to the first row would people recommend Paddock Club, Family Enclosure, Lower Gwladys or Park End? I'm leaning towards Paddock or Family and in that case are you better off getting middle of the field tickets or trying to get close to one of the goals?

As mentioned before, if you get Row A or similar in the paddock it will be a waste of money, the view is terrible and you really cant see the game, and IMO is a waste of money. The stands are all quite close to the pitch anyway, so even a couple of rows back and you still get that experience, but with the added benefit of watching the game. I'd go Street End, you may get lucky and get some atmosphere, then again it'll be against Fulham so probably as quite as library.

Remeber its not the same as baseball, there is constant movement on the pitch, so not being able to see the other side will be annoying and a waste of a journey

Hey , im a ex 15 year season ticket holder, moved to Canada and helped a couple of Canucks find the faith on a visit! You have to do lower Gwladys. It is everton.... that and the Wimslow.... ya they sell bud too

You'll want to spell things with an 's' and not a 'z' if you want my help mate.

The fella is completely correct to use Z in the context he did. Words with the the suffix - IZE have been used in English since the 16th century and are actually closer to the greek root (IZO) than the more common suffix of -ISE.
The OED lists both spellings of such verbs.

The Z is of course NOT an acceptable substitution in words ending -yse (they have a different root in greek)

just saying like...

That's helpful, I really appreciate it. At this point I agree, first or second row seems like a waste and that would certainly suck to sit there and barely see the game.

Hows the view from first row or two of the lower Gwladys? I assume you want to sit on either side of the goal or near the corner instead of behind the goal?

I find that the closer to the pitch you get , the less of the game you actually see,, just my personal preference but I prefer to be higher up and get a more panoramic view.

This. for ur first game get in the main stand purely for the view. take it all in and then for your second graduate to either the park end or the gwladys
