Takes a while to get plans drawn and planning permission.

I had to get planning permission for an illuminated sign outside my shop! Imagine a whole stadium!!

Wasn't that more to do with the sort of services you offer as opposed to flashing lights:

The new stadium will almost certainly have naming rights, thus apart from sentiment I see little reason why we shouldn't adapt and benefit now.
Your point is completely logical, and mine is entirely sentimental. Yours makes more sense and oddly, if we get a new stadium I've no problem calling it 'Everton @ Conglom-O-Corp' - there's just something about Goodison that is so steeped in tradition that calling it the Asda-drome after being there for 124 years that seems wrong.

Listen don't start picking on me again I never mentioned it! I'm gonna tell me ma about you.
Bigger boys made me do it lol

The cost or little cost of these improvements is staggering it only goes to further highlight the short comings of the previous chief shareholders

Football is about image. We'll be moving Stadium within the next five years, but the perception of EFC needs to be changed. Giving Goodison a makeover changes perception. Brings Everton into the 'now' rather than looking like we're stuck in the 1980s.
