Toxic atmosphere yesterday, if I had a cushion I would have lobbed it on the pitch.
first time ive heard GT8 the new singing section have any impact' 'OUT. OUT. OUT.'After yesterdays atrocious performance against the Canaries, I wanted some opinions on why Goodison's atmosphere isn't the same as it was.
Obviously the atmosphere is incredible when we're playing well and winning but how can we do our part to boost the atmosphere when the game is dull or we're playing badly/losing instead of just moaning and shouting abuse at referees.
Show some commitment
Play with passion
A good manager at the helm with tactics that work and who fights the clubs corner not a wet lettuce.
Basically all of the above that we havent got at present.
I was proud of our fans yesterday - finally made our voice heard before we become the next Villa/Sunderland sleepwalking into obscurity.
The ale house is fantastic before the game, and the Z cars get's us all going.
And after 10 minutes, the penny drops that we are in for the usual 90 minutes of pedestrian boring crap.
The gloom then descends on Goodison.
We got outplayed by a team who where bottom of the league and had scored 0 away goals since they played the RS first game of the season. It could've easily been 3 or 4 nill. It's hard to get behind the team when they show absolutely nothing for 90 mins. The fans have every right to voice their opinion and we sure did. We aren't Palace fans who are just happy surviving in the prem.I'm not blaming the fans for that performance, I just think that it should be more mutual than it is. Look at Palace and teams in Germany like Hamburg, the atmosphere at Selhurst is brilliant even if they're playing bad. I'm not saying we should get a drum to create a fake atmosphere like some teams but Palace don't need that drum.
