I wouldn't bother, genuinely

Went along on Sunday looking forward to a good bit of nostalgia and to soak up all the feelings about leaving Goodison

It was 12 photo's on a wall 'advertising' said photographers of people stood outside a chippy or some kid in a bobble hat. All from the last few months.

Would of been interesting if it was a small part of a larger more purposeful exhibition, but half bothered few photos, were i hate to say it, if it was farewell to Anfield, the whole museum would of been taken over

I’d also give another shout out to Steve Zocek ‘Goodison Memories’ Book, it’s a fantastic read with stories of Goodison from amazing diversity of sources. It’s an essential reference for all Evertonians and I’d urge any poster who hasn’t got one to order a copy from @alan ball.

I wouldn't bother, genuinely

Went the day it opened, nothing special. Looks like the photos were all taken on the same day as well. Whoever the curator was needs sacking. There are literally millions of photos of Goodison from the past 133 years. The photos taken and selected don’t tell me anything about Goodison and it seems the descriptions to go with them were an after thought on how it can be linked/related to a certain emotion.

It sounds daft, but i don't disagree

Something like this could of been precured (I'd presume if the museum asked you would of supplied it for free to show it off to the world).

But old kits, boots, programmers, chairs, the Goodison Dog, photo's of goals with summary's of it from players/fans etc and what it meant to them.
A few screens with Everton related content, surely it was something they could of really gone hard on?

I ended up doing 2 things instead, me and my mate ended up going through the rest of the museum trying to see which wax dummies they could of put a kit on and pretended it was an ex player.... the best was a tram conductor was the spit of Degsy Mountfield & a caveman had Adrian Heath's hair.

After spending the rest of our day in town and a few drinks, went home and watched Howard's Way

Just felt like the photographers were trying to show there 'talent' and it was a way of getting them out there instead of actually getting good photos out there.

If you wanted to showcase outside Goodison, you can find loads of better ones

But to a good percentage of people from Liverpool, that stadium is one of the most important buildings to them, and that can go back 100 odd years.
Generations of family's going to these games together, its an important part of Liverpool history in the 20th & 21st century and all it warranted was 12 photo's of some guy eating chips in Nike 110's, it deserves more than that.

The club and the city have massively underwhelmed on the closing of Goodison (i mentioned the other day about possibility of a 'legends game') which people would want to celebrate.

Its genuinely upset me of how little has been made of the closing of an institution, a church, a place were 40,000 people from the city have been going to for over 100 years. There is so much there to be proud of and its all been a bit 'meh'

So much they haven’t done , I suspect the lack of leadership for a long period probably impacted .

The photos are great and taken by some really talented people but like most I’d like to have seen an iconic display tracking the history of the stadium . There is no kit to mark this history , even in one game .

Now I know there will be lots happening on that final Sunday but feels like between the council being surprised by the completion of a huge stadium that’s been under construction for years and a lack of leadership at the top of the club we’ve sleepwalked to the leaving of Goodison .

I have to say I'm not entirely sure what some people have expected them to do to make a bigger deal about the end of Goodison. They've counted down the games, made a big deal about the 'last x,y,z' etc ever, released a book, a commemorative pack, some merch, specifically requested the last game be played on a day that they thought would receive more exposure etc. I think anyone with even a vague hint of interest in football is aware that it's our last season at the ground. Obviously there's always more you could do, but I can't get on board with the idea that it's gone under the radar at all to be honest.

I started reading this last night and my initial impression was that the author has done an excellent job of peeling back the layers of history surrounding the stadium, even painting a picture of its opening for an athletics event (something I had not known about previously).

The book is well-sourced and stretches to as recently as last season's Merseyside Derby victory at Goodison. I look forward to reading it further.
