Obviously Yakubu has rightly been gaining plaudits for his goals recently but Osman bagged his 5th goal of the season last night as well to move up to 3rd in our goal scorers list alongside Lescott. Indeed Yakubu is the only member of the top 4 that plays in attack, a great sign of the whole team contributing goals.

Thus far we've scored 43 goals in all competitions (pretty bloody good for this time of year - Man City have just 23 in all comps!)

Of those:

49% were scored by strikers
37% by midfielders
and 14% by defenders.

Also of interest, is that Yak has 23% of our total goals.

This compares favourably with all the leading teams who get a lot of goals from midfield, from the likes of Ronaldo, Fabregas, Lampard and Gerrard.

If you compare it with our peers, Portsmouth have 31 goals, of which 55% by strikers, 25% by midfielders and 19% by defenders.

This the most ideal scoring ratio from our team, no team would ever win things if they depend on Striker scoring all the goals, Midfield has to do it's fair share!

I think we are doing just that, with Striker scoring more and midfield just behind it and Lescott scoring goals for defender share!

the big eye opener this season has been the sheer number of goals scored. i was getting used to us eeking out a win... but now i'm starting to count on two hands goals scored! lol!

the fact that the other strikers are finding the net when they play is a bonus. infact necessary for the 6 weeks yakubu will be away.

johnson for yakubu is a pretty good swop for any team.

You did say he was lazy and I suppose you could say he's being economical with his effort :P

That's all we need from him, a goal machine with passion!

Just to be fair, he has done well in this match, he has improve his workrate ever since we complain about it, on couple occassion even appear in our half when he wasn't needed!
