Alright lids

Thinking of going away for a weekend to watch a match, anyone recommend somewhere they went recently ? Been to St.Pauli, Benfica, PSV, Hertha Berlin, so anywhere other than those clubs/cities,

Thanks

I'm off to Mallorca next week, was trying to buy a ticket on their website for the game against Bilbao, would not let me as I'm not based in Spain., thought that strange. 75 euro seems I can pay at the gate though.will update you with experience.
Back on track Portimonese on the Algarve was quite fun, cheap, bloody hot also, season ticket holders get the shaded area of the stadium while we fried. Wouldn't be making a trip especially to see the football, but if your there, why not !.

A bit left-field but how about Stockholm? Very nice city to visit and the atmosphere at AIK's stadium is fantastic. If you can get tickets for one of their derbies v Djurgården or Hammarby then you'd be in for a spectacle.

Bias but FC Köln is a great day.

To be honest any German club is goood. If you fly to Cologne, you’ve got with 2 hours on the train.

Koln - 3 sides, can catch multiple if you’re lucky.
Bayer Leverkusen
Schalke
Borussia Dortmund
Bochum
RW Essen
And less appealing Fortuna Düsseldorf, Borussia Monchengladbach.

Other than that of the big leagues, I’ve always loved a visit to Italy. If you stray off the big clubs like Milan and Inter (worth ticking off the San Siro, great ground), where there are tonnes of tourists you can get some great gems.

I’ve done Empoli (which was a personal favourite), which is Inbetween Pisa & Florence, Piacenza, Modena (amazing experience), Lazio, Milan and I’ve currently got a trip to Lecce booked for May.

If you don’t mind budget of the city Scandinavian ones are always good Copenhagen, Malmo, AIK, Brondby etc are all great, but just expensive when you’re there.

If you’re feeling particularly brave, Red Star a Belgrade is an interesting one, especially on a European night.

Since they’ve brought in the new rule In Europe you can almost plan your away trips for R16, last season I did Thursday Bayer04 Vs. Ferencvaros, then on the Friday I did Köln Vs. Bochum.

Sorry for the essay

Bremen - it’s a great city in a great location. Can easily get the train to many areas with great football, cities and plenty of drinks. Can easily get to Dortmund, shalcke, Koln, Hamburg and many more grounds staying in Bremen.

Milan - San Siro is a brilliant stadium with a great atmosphere for both teams. Great city too.

Dresden - was unexpectedly a great trip. The Dresden fans are mental.

Liege - enjoyed Liege but didn’t get to stay for long as I’d have liked. Good stadium, good fan base and decent team.

Warsaw - went to watch Legia play whilst was there a few years ago. Not the best city in Europe been too but still a good trip. Got a modern and old feel to it. Cheap for food and drink.

Paris - Obviously it’s Paris but going a PSG game was rather disappointing. Atmosphere was rubbish, cost for a match ticket for very expensive compared to some places in Europe. Cost more for a PSG ticket than it did to go watch 3 games in the Bundensliga.

In February half term, depending on match fixtures got a trip to Germany booked in. Plan is to start in Munich and work our way up to Hamburg to watch St. Pauli, all going well, will be my 30th game watching St. Pauli home and away.
