Good documentaries

I'd recommend Dark Days - it is a documentary about homeless people in New York who set up a community underground. The soundtrack is by DJ Shadow as well which is a bonus!

Watched John Pilger's 1979 doc, "Year Zero: The Silent Death of Cambodia" today.

There are no words. Truly heartbreaking - and the West (particularly Nixon's America) do not come out well.

A must see.

Love John Pilger's stuff, I haven't seen this one though!

Really recommend the one on BBC4 the other night 'Mugabe and the Democrats'. Absolutely fascinating viewing. Some LOL moments and an inspiring bloke fighting against corruption.

Just finished watching Mark Cousins' series, "The Story of Film". 15 hour odyssey from the birth of cinema to now, focusing in innovation in the art form. Fascinating.
His narration nearly put me to sleep though.

Most of the ones I was gonna say have already been mentioned like Senna, Man on Wire, Dear Zachary and anything by Werner Herzog.

Haven't seen anyone mention Exit Through the Gift Shop though. Very good and another one called Beauty Day which is probably more unknown. Beauty Day is about Ralph Zavadill, aka Cap'n Video, who preceded Jackass. Very entertaining film.

If we count making of documentaries then Dangerous Days: Making of Blade Runner is amazing.
