When we had the shutdown of the season when the pandemic first hit I thoroughly enjoyed my time away from football. I always love the 3month break then you get the transfer window and the season starts again and all the false hopes start again. But the break is the best time of the year for me.

I do mate, walking in beautiful parts of our island, a bit of cycling, golf, a bit of travel, good wine and generally trying to enjoy life. Everton are the Bain of my life but I still love them as you do my friend.

I do mate, I take great pride in being a blue, even now despite all that comes our way. It would be nice - for those I like and love as much as more than me - to see a period of prolonged competence from Everton and the positive impact it would bring to everyone’s lives. It genuinely hurts me to see the older blues, this staunch ones I look up to and drink with after the game with recognise an Everton they once loved.

That ain’t coming any time soon so like you I throw myself into outdoors on this rainy island and fitness, because it takes the stress of Everton away.
 

I think we have to stick with these players till end of the season. If they take us down they we need a full clear out. I would find it real difficult to support a group who's lack of effort on the pitch have got us into this position.

The idea that this crowd of numbnuts need a bear pit goodison to get em going for 90 mins a week is an embarrassment to the club we support. They have till may.
 
Your team is your team no matter now. Everton need the fans more than ever. This is NOT the time for giving up. This is the time for rallying round and getting behind your team.

You take the good just like you take the bad.

Keep the faith Everton are staying up and this hellish season will be behind us shortly!

I was hopeful 'till yesterday. I even posted on here believing that a nasty Goodison for the away side would get us over the line. But having sat through that match yesterday I really can't see it anymore. The incidents with Hwang said it all, giving Wolves the ball back every time he went down, the linesman was stood in front of us clearly telling Gordon to put the throw out of play for a goal kick on the last occasion it happened and the young lad listened to him. If you have enough quality you can get through with fight and if you have enough fight there's a chance of picking up enough points with less quality, sadly this team has a shocking absence of both.
 

I won't give up on them more I've learned in recent times to put Everton in its rightful place in my life, which means I don't treat it as a priority over other far more important things and accept that I have no control over what happens.

I'll admit I have tuned out of the matches, in terms of watching them at GP or on TV. By and large I keep up during matchday itself, but for a long time, I can't bear to watch them live. They offer nothing in the form of entertainment and its mostly one disappointment after another. That used to be crushing, but you actually get used to being let down, and you come to accept it.

That makes for sad reading. I'm not depressive about Everton's state but I am aware that some may be. I'm more sentimental and melancholy. If the dreaded relegation does come to pass, I'm not sure how I'll react.
 
I could never cut myself off from the club completely, being an Evertonian is part of my identity. That said, I have already achieved a high degree of detachment from top-level football and don't fear relegation. I will continue to support the club wherever we end up. In fact, it could be a pleasant change to experience the wider world of football away from the financial doping of the prem.
 
It’s pretty simple for me after over sixty years of supporting Everton and summed up in the Dido song : “ I will go down with this ship, I won’t put my hands up and surrender….there will be no White Flag upon my door …” Stick with them they’ll come good and at the end of the day they're still our team.

Mate, this Club has been part of my blood since I was 4. When Shamrock Rovers were relegated and nearly went bust I was really down. Thankfully we came straight back and have now won 4 premier league titles since 2010.

There is a heritage linking Everton and Rovers. I know I shouldn't get so involved with a Club but as Bally said, once Everton has touched you...
