giles barnes is the kind of player that ends up at spurs and we end up asking " why didnt we get him" ?

he has had a fair bit of time out with injurys so hasnt really shone this season.

but he has shown glimpses of what he has the potential to do.

i think he would be a good signing but only as competion for osman pienaar and arteta on the wings.

i guess we need a finished article world class center midfeild playmaker first though.

Getting him in as a squad player would be good business I reckon, due to our lack of depth in midfield he's supposed to be quite versitile. Having said that, at his current level nowhere near our first team in terms of quality.

Really? Do you honestly believe that? Fair enough like. But I wouldn't say he was nowhere near the quality we have at the moment. But then its difficult to measure it when he is playing in a poor side.

Well comparing him to Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill or Osman then yeah he's not in there league yet, although as you say it could be down to the fact he's not playing in a decent side. One thing is certain though whoever takes him on is taking a risk at the pricetag that he'll likely end up going for as he is English.

I think 5m would be reasonable price. Of course only if your measuring that against what Chelsea pay for players, not what Moyes pays for Arteta.
