Player Valuation: £70m
Thought I would take stock and do a team review.

Goalkeepers

Tim Howard
Nobody else has played so can't comment. But Tim so far has been excellent for me. I even heard him shouting for the ball today, so he must be improving in the commanding area. Best since Big Nev? absolutely. Martyn was excellent, but we got him too late. Tim Howard is still young enough to improve even more.
Needs to say **** more times on national telly.

Defenders

Tony Hibbert
For me one of the most improved players at the club. Still a little lacking in the positioning department, but he can attack with purpose, has some dribbling skills which I never knew he possessed, plus he can cross the ball now. He has definitely made an improvement on his own ability, and deserves a special mention from me.
Ghost wants to see Hibbert concentrate more on his positioning, other than that great.

Leighton Baines
Good? Well yeah he is, he can run, he can cross the ball, can he bend it like Beckham? Well he certainly has it in his locker judging by some of his crosses recently. He has started to make the left back his own, at what cost I don't know? But competition for places has certainly made its mark on those who are winning the races for those positions.
Would like to see him get on the scoresheet.

Joseph Yobo
Is he expendable? I would like to think not, but he's fit and on the bench. With some explosive players in the backline, an English one at that. I don't know - he has ability, he is a very very good centre back, going to be tough to see him come into the team at the moment.
Personally, believe he will move on in the summer, we just don't have the available positions it seems.

Joleon Lescott
Is there a more attack minded centre back in the league? Nope. He can tackle, he can score goals. Best we have had since Degsy.
Love him, and hope he stays for the rest of his career. Prefer him at centre back, and hope that is where Moyes plays him.

Phil Jagielka
Best centre back in the league at the moment. Has kept the best quiet, and took the piss out of the lesser players. He has it all in my opinion. Stamina, Strength, Intelligence, he can pass - just not all the players are on his wavelength.
Should be captain when Neville retires, simple as that. He is a born leader.

Midfielders

Andy Van der Meyde
Ability? Yes
Desire? Maybe
Fitness? No
The latter will come with games, and I'm sure he can make a contribution to the team as the season goes on. I would love to see him make a difference and gain a new contract, but I can't see it.
Want him to prove Moyes wrong. Time will tell.

Segundo Castillo
One goal, one bad performance. What else is there to say? Can't see us taking up the option.
Prefer to see a 17 year old lad there instead of him.

Mikel Arteta
Free role = world class, even if Spain don't recognise his talents. Nothing much else to say about him.
Hope that he can remain in this free role, as it certainly pays dividends.

Tim Cahill
Everton legend? Without a shadow of a doubt. A more influential player than Duncan Ferguson, I say that in terms of result, and not fanbase opinion. I also say that he is incredibly close to Duncan, I just think he is a better footballer allround.
Love him, one of my favourite players.

Phil Neville
Great captain, doing a great job with the younger players, keeping them inline and putting in some great performances to boot.
For me he is a notable Evertonian over a notable Mancunian. Has made a world of difference to this club, whatever you may think of him, his passion is unwavered, and especially due to the fact he has spend his formative years as a seasoned professional who was well decorated.

Steven Pienaar
Talent, can change a game. But for me he blends well into the squad and is not afraid to stick a boot in for the lads.
3m? bargain. Would like him though to show slightly more composure and be more intelligent.

Leon Osman
Has great touch, and can finish a ball. If you compiled 20 of the greatest goals we have scored under David Moyes, and I would say there is around 3 Osman goals in the top 5.
Not going to say the cliche Osman comment. I think he is a great professional, and don't buy into the Osman [Poor language removed] comments. We have signed many players, yet Osman is still playing over 30 games a season for Everton.

Marouane Fellaini
We have still not seen anywhere near the best from this lad. I believe it is due to the fear of being banned. It has to be on his and Moyes' mind constantly. This will subside, and he will be a very very good Premiership footballer. His price tag was maybe a milstone, but for me he has performed well enough in the season to be seen as a hit. Regardless of certain posters opinions of him, he makes a difference.
Cut the hair, and try and lower the profile

Jack Rodwell
Who was that passing the ball around Mascherano and Alonso? Surely not a 17 year old kid? Well kid is probably not fair because he is fairly well built and is performing years ahead of his time. Sound familiar?
Future captain.

Dan Gosling
What a find! Not only has he secured his immunity by scoring the winner against Liverpool, he is actually a pretty good player. At just turned 19 he is really showing great promise. His first touch and willingness to get forward and attack is just what we need.
Needs to slow down, or the other players need to speed up. Either way, he is definitely one for now and not the future. Great signing.

Forwards

Louis Saha
Remember him? One of the forgotten men who we still have to bring into this squad. Class.
Injuries are an issue, but with the backup we have, is it? Saha is certainly a nice to have player, and it will be nice to bring that option in the fray.

Jo
Well he is Brazilian, he has a great scoring record. What else can I say? Just unleash him.
Great debut, and how much has he cost us? Nil!

James Vaughan
Shame he has been injured because I think he has great promise. Not much I can say other than that.
Needs to improve fitness.

Yakubu
Say what you like, he scores goals. Simple as that. Don't care if he don't run all over, as long as he gets a goal every other game, which he does. Job done.
Would like to see fans get off his back, best striker we have had at the club since Cottee left. Fact.

Jose Baxter
Seen little in an Everton shirt, much more in an England shirt and I can tell you he has the minerals. Sign him up and unleash him.
Going to be world class, in an Everton shirt or not, prefer him in an Everton shirt.

Have missed out some players for obvious reasons, not playing enough, off on loan, being pricks. you know the drill.

Think Osman is getting a bad rap. He has struggled the past few games but he still comes close to scoring in every one of them. If it wasn't for the heroics of Gary Cahill today that was a certain goal. Woodwork just hasn't been in his favour either.

You don't rate Osman? Can anyone finish the ball like he does from midfield?

He scores the odd good goal. With Cahill, Fellaini, and Arteta in the center there is no place for him there, and he is absolutely useless on the wing.

I respect his effort, he doesnt stop running. But the amount of bad passes and the number of times he loses the ball is frustrating.

In the middle he doesn't lose the ball, in his natural position.

Put Cahill or Fellaini on the wing and lets see how they do, you bad Osmaracist.

I think when Ossie is good, he is brilliant, and when he isn't good, he is terrible.

And Fellaini should not cut his hair. The hair rocks.

But in the center, Cahill and Fellaini are probably better than Osman. Maybe not as skillful, but they lose the ball less, and score more goals.

Id love osman to stay at Everton, on the bench, come on when we are tired, or in need of a goal, but he is only good in the center, and sadly, the center is where we are solid at the moment in terms of players.
