Getting back to Piccadilly after the game Sunday

If you're heading back to Liverpool then you could walk to Oxford Road, which is a bit closer on foot. If you walk at a reasonable pace you'll make that in an hour

If you get tram just go through to Piccadilly though, the only issue is you might need to change trams / queue to get on one

Edit - though you may have to go from piccadilly if booked - train companies aren't very flexible!!

Be cutting it fine, I would have thought.

You say that station at Warwick Riad is out of action?

That was always handy for getting away from OT when I used to travel away.
Brings back memories does getting to that station - I've a few ex mates who hold the world record running to that from Old Trafford.

I'm booked on the 19:08 train back to lime st. The man Utd train station doesn't seem to be open judging by the trainline.com .What's the quickest and easiest way back after the game? I've walked in the past but can't remember how long it takes? Usually go in a car or coach it's about 10 years since I got the train to Utd .

It's about an hours walk to Piccadilly mate, but it's a bit less to Oxford Rd, and it takes the train about 5 mins to get from Piccalilli to Oxford Rd, so that'd give you an extra ten minutes or so to play with. Obviously if you're train doesn't actually stop at Oxford Rd, then this isn't a great plan.

Chances are it'd take at least half an hour to get from A to B by tram.

edit : Actually @efcfanwirral had this covered already. It's nice to see another geeky traveller on here !

lol

For sure.

I remember circa 1992, the day Tony Cottee scored two in a 2-0 win.

We were stood actually on the still stationary train and this mob of Mancs appeared on the platform and started stoning the blooming thing

Haha years living the oxford road area of town! Wouldn't even consider going to Liverpool from Piccadilly!

Further advice - if you're ticket says 'Manchester stations' then you're good from oxford road, and if it's an eticket on your phone... I got through with a Piccadilly - Leeds one at oxford road the other week that id accidentally booked, it didn't work on the machine but the guy just let me through

I've always walked from OT or the gigs at the cricket ground rather than the busy tram especially as an away fan!
