Mate they signed up.....they didn't have to. Wellington was Irish and the Irish made up to a 3rd of the British army back in those days. They didn't have to
There's a distinction to be made between Anglo-Irish Dukes of the realm and Irish foot soldiers. Many of whom had little or no option than to join the Army and none of whom were commanded by an Irish government.

The amount of our fans that have somehow turned into staunch royalists to somehow get some sort of weird 1-up over Liverpool is knocking me sick to be honest.
“Sing the national anthem because wE’rE nOt LiKe ThEm”

Fodder for the vaults.
A national anthem is not necessarily about royalty. It just so happens that ours include the words King or Queen. I don't like our national anthem, there are plenty of other patriotic songs that would be better IMHO. But that's another debate. But the national anthem is the national anthem and whether your a royalist or not should be sung and respected out of patriotism. As regards to showing our respects today, its got nothing to do with the RS it's about what any decent person should do like the majority of other football clubs and institutions around the world. Like we pay respect to one of our own or others i. e. Hillsborough amongst others. We don't want to be singled out. We're Everton, we've got class and dignity when it's required.

He’s right though and I’m a socialist. It’s not the Queen’s fault being born into that role or whatever you call it.

I don’t think we need a Royal Family, it’s a waste of money. But again, it’s not her fault.

I was born a blue. It’s not my fault!
He was wrong on several counts.... firstly Iraq wasnt the only wrong doing of her lifetime.... not by any stretch of the imagination.

On your point... no-one has said it was her fault to be born into wealth. However no-one should have the right to be head of state by birth right.... that is immoral, abhorrent and anti- democracy by definition. So if you wish to inherit the status by ancestry then you should also accept the sins associated with that.

I'm afraid that in regards to no one having the right to be head of state by birth then history will tell you differently. As for democracy, we're supposed to have that with a democratically elected parliament although the tories have changed the laws so it makes it easier for them to get in. The Royal family have no, or very little influence on political decisions.

They do though. That queen made it very plain she didn't want devolution for Wales and Scotland; and she had her flunkies out in the media to make the same message was clear for Scottish independence on that vote 8 years ago.

She is also on record telling polticians she favoured a small government, which is very right wing.

Yes, I said none or very little. But as regards to the Scottish debate. That was down to a denorcratic vote and the powers that be didn't do enough to convince the people to vote for independence. I have very close family in Scotland. A lot of them are Irish Catholic decent and dislike the Royal family immensely. But they are fiercely patriotic towards the nation of Scotland which was my initial point in pointing out that we should be patriotic whether you like the royals or not. Also, a lot of the people I know in Scotland including the green side, shall we call it voted to remain as part of the UK.

Talk like that about the crown and the fools is very childish, you do know right its very old? It's not like she stole it or anyone who represents her.
I take it you will refuse to set foot in Bramley Moor ? Since the money to pay for it no doubt somewhere down the line involved human exploitation and suffering? Or are you dumb enough to believe these billionaires make there wealth looking after the poor working classes?
Setting foot in Bramley Moore as a meer pescent to watch a football game is different to wearing a crown encrusted with jewels stolen from the global South. You are grasping there.
