Its very odd that you bring in the taking of the knee, as that was an agreed show of solidarity by the players, not the fans, and those that disagreed with it, for various uneducated reasons, were really quite vocal about if you remember.

i was vocal about the moronic "taking the knee" charade.

The respect show from us to the people of the city with our moments for the Hillsborough tragedy is very different, and you know it. A large number of people that take part in that were personally affected or have close family/friends who were. The people that are mourned for with those actions were killed unlawfully and many thousands suffered because of it.

Seriously though, how many minutes silences do they want? Wasn't there a 2 minute silence on the day she died? There will be another on the day of the funeral. If you haven't taken, or wont be taking the opportunity to partake in either of those to show your respect, then I guess you just don't want to. Its becoming like the DFS sale. Here, this is your last chance to have 2 minutes silence, the HRH sale ends Friday. On Saturday.... Welcome to the HRH sale, have one minutes silence just before the chance ends 11:59pm this Sunday. Then come Monday, well, you get the jist.

I'm not sure why they have to ensure to the best of their ability that every single person 'pays their respect', 'pays there dues' kisses the boots' of a woman who lived a privileged life for 96 years, then died of old age.

I'm not sorry that she died as she lived a full life and died of natural causes, but I am sorry for the grief that her surviving family will now go through, as I would be any family who have lost a mother/grandmother etc.

Well in for a penny really, if you don't think politicised gestures are appropriate then to be consistent it's fair to say you would be against all of them. Otherwise you're just in favour of gestures you support which is rather narrow minded.

We have minutes silences all the time, for people with literally no connection to Everton and nobody complains. I quite like them actually, if only for the accompanying roar when they finish. But within that crowd there will be many people for whom it means a great deal and that should be respected.

I don't think bringing taking the knee up is as odd as bringing up a DFS sale. Are you seriously telling me you are surprised there's a minute's silence for the Queen? Do you examine and criticise the qualification for everyone who has had a minute's silence or just this one to suit your agenda?

Not in any way a fan of Royals, but on a basic level, its respecting someone who has died, who has a family. Anyone who cant stay quiet for 1 minute is just a boring attention seeking fool.

As long as its not 1 of these minutes applause during the game things, like on the 70th minute to acknowledge her reign, or some nonsense like that. They do my head in.
