I totally understand those who are of the view that the Monarchy should be scrapped, but to boo a national anthem and a minute silence is not the way to do it.

I’m sure there are better ways to show that point of view then to do something that would antagonise people.

Don’t sing it if you don’t want too but booing it just seems off to me it’s only a one off anyway due to the death of a Queen.

If the polling is accurate then there’s a mere 10% that would make any audible or visual protest at the planned gestures to remember the Queen at Goodison on Sunday so it’s not really a massive thing is it?

None of the people who said they would boo have the testicular fortitude to do it at the match.

They act big and brave now but when it comes to the crunch they will bottle it.

the history of the Indian subcontinent is vast and complicated - the war between India and Pakistan is still going on etc etc - to suggest that Britain was solely responsible for all those "estimated" deaths is stupid and naive.
Can you not see why I dislike the British? Ireland has only been its own country for 100 years because of them and 6 counties are still occupied.

FWIW, I’ve always booed the national anthem at the cricket and there’s never been an issue.

I think it would look very bad on Goodison if people had a problem with the boos

Without going to history but after the British left it was a free for all with partition meaning religious massacres and genocides happening as people fled.

Not to make light of the atrocities and thievery that were committed under British rule in the name of the crown
