German wines

Got some Spätburgunder, Frühburgunder and some Riesling today.

What's your take on wines that aren't from the Latin world, especially from Germany?

The German's have got their act together regarding the wines they sell in the UK. You can still get 'sugar water' like Liebfraumilch if you want it but the better quality wines are pretty decent though not to my taste.

Bulgaria & Romania produce some decent wines though my favourites are Italian, Spanish & Portuguese. A couple of bottles of 2007 Primitivo will accompany my turkey this year.

German wine is about as popular as spam these days.

That's probably because our palate's are more sophisticated in the UK these days & we've realised that it's cats piss.
