Gerard Deulofeu

I think letting Geri leave may become Koeman's biggest mistake...can't understand why we'd be looking at the likes of Niang when Geri is already on the books...there must be a way to work on his weaknesses over time...Even C Ronaldo had no interest tracking back at first either for Utd but Fergie was patient with him
At Deulofeu's current age, Ronaldo was in going into his last season at Utd, before moving to Madrid and had won the European Golden Shoe as well as the Premier League Golden Boot the season prior.

I know that and I'm not suggesting(though it might have appeared that way) that he would match him in the long term, all I'm saying is there is something in him worth keeping for sure. He has end product as much as Barkley/Mirallas in terms of minutes played and definitey can frighten full backs

I agree, but there may not be a choice if Barca do activate this clause that they have. There's also the question of if he is willing to effectively be an impact sub or play primarily in the Europa League, as he doesn't seem to have the fitness levels required for playing a full match in the PL.

yea he would be a squad player and would need promises that he'd get game time which I'm not sure Koeman give him. His fitness levels are a concern alright but it's a strange one...I thought Kluitenberg would help him greatly with that. Maybe he doesn't give 100% in that?! hard to know what goes on behind the scenes but it does seem clear Koeman doesn't fancy him. I'm just sorry to see him go if he does but whatever is best for the team in the end...still though he's magic yaknow!

Two assists from Jan 1st 2016 for us.

Two.

I wouldn't say I'm his biggest fan, however he is a game changer and is young enough to get better. What I dont get is why we've handed Mirallas a new contract, when he has massively under performed for 2 years, yet we seemed to be happy for Geri to go back to Barca for 10m

It might just be the whole contract issue is so weird the Koeman just thought he wasnt worth investing the time with as he was never going to stay past July 2017. In many ways we've had him on loan for 2 years without having to pay a hefty loan fee

Geri total Everton minutes 2738 total goals 5 total assists 11 involved in a goal every 171.125 minutes
Ross 11034 21 19 275.85 min
Kev 10,312 33 20 194.566 min

He had a great spell of form at the back end of 2015.

Since then, he's been mostly gash bar pre-season.

If he stays, great, he might be useful. If he goes, it's a shame but no great loss

A deal's a deal! If it was part of the contract, then seeya Geri. It might wake up certain people to the fact that those doing negotiations for the club need a stern talking to at least!
