Gerard Deulofeu

It's a weird one, can't deny his skill but always struck me that he couldn't last much more than 45mins. Good luck to him though, gave us a few great moments (Arsenal goal), added to the coffers and never went squeeling to the press.

Bye Gerri lad.

It's a shame it didn't work out.

Not for a lack of talent, or even a lack of attitude, but aptitude I think.

It's a shame he didn't get more of a go last season, but Koeman clearly saw something he didn't like and unfortunately it looks like Gerri didn't do much to change his mind.

Perhaps he gets a go as a squad player at Barca, though I think it's just as likely he ends up out on loan/sold again.

On his day he was very good, but he could be shocking as well. The thing was his fitness levels were worrying how he was absolutely knackered in a few matches after 20 minutes. Hope he can sort out his obvious problem with his fitness as a young sportsman should not be like that.

Unless we specifically agree to It, Barca can't sell him or loan him out next season

If he is going back to Barca, he must have been promised he will be part of the 1st team squad for next season

Barca wouldn't trigger the clause unless they knew Geri was going to agree to the move

Agree with everything you wrote there BT, talent in abundance but he has been totally unable to apply that talent properly throughout his career to date. It is a real shame but it's telling that despite his incredible level of talent, most of us are probably shrugging our shoulders at the news

I like him, football should be entertaining but you simply couldn't trust him to even give 30 mins of graft. In todays PL high fitness levels are a pre requisite.

Basically we had the the kid on a glorified loan deal. My opinion is that Koeman knew that Barcelona would take him back so knew he couldn't count on him in his long term plans. Barcelona is the kids club he could never turn down returning to them. I would have loved to have kept the lad but this was always going to happen
