Gerard Deulofeu

Of course you compare them. They have played in similiar positions in the same team. Dont play dcl out wide if he is utter rubbish out there then. Give him experience some say. He got 10 plus games and he offered nothing during a time when we were supposedly going for top 4. That fell away badly being helped by playing players like dcl out if position. Del boy might not last a full match but he can be very effective for a 30 min spell. All teams need players to come off the bench to change a game. They dont have to have hugh lungs.

You would have to factor in the fact that Deulofeu played under an attack minded manager and DCL has been asked to play a defensive game under a more defensive manager. He playson the left purely to help Baines out and put a shift in, something Deulofeu has never done.

I agree with the fact that DCL should not be playing on the left though, he is a centre forward who has never played there for Everton, therefore I think he is being judged a bit harshly. Like playing Deulofeu in Gana's position and judging him on that.

Let's compare a one-lunged ex-La Masia winger to a 20-year old striker we picked up from League 1. Sound.

Why wouldn't you compare them given they compete for same position ?

What does him having one lung and DCL being young have to do with anything ?

I was merely describing them. I feel it's unfair to judge DCL playing on the wing just like it'd be unfair to judge Geri up front. Not sure I can say it any clearer.

If we don't keep Geri DCL will no doubt play some games on the wing for us next year though. There are clear grounds for comparison. It's weird to say there isn't.

In the Europa League he should be okay to be honest, and he could be a decent impact sub in the League

I'm not sure he'll ever reach his full potential sadly, but he could be a useful cog in a good side

Ronny hates him, in his last game he pulled out of 2 tackles, Ronny wont have such a player in his squad and I dont want such a player fighting for us on the pitch.

For anyone hanging their hope on Del having an everton future, consider this.

If there was any chance of Del having an everton future, why would the manager loan him out knowing full well he had ONE senior winger in the squad left afterwards and had to resort to playing an 18 year old striker out there to simply plug a gap?

He is no longer an everton player away from the formalities of waiting for someone to pay money now.

In the end its probably not even our decision, as Barcelona probably takes him back, loans him out, and then sells him next year.

Anyone saying we don't need him needs to remember how poisonous DCL's performances were.

Geri is infinitely better than him, Lennon, Valencia and Bolasie.

poisonous?

LOL

Yes, hes probably better than Lennon and Valencia, neither of which will play for this club again, hes not better than Bolasie, a player which will probably not play this year.

If only there was a window, a window in which clubs could purchase players, come on FIFA, open a window.
