Loved the club. Personally think what he missed for us could be worked on with good body conditioning.
One of my favourite players in recent years for his sheer "stand-up-when-he's-got-the-ballness."
Think it was vs Cardiff in his first season - literally everytime he picked it up all of us in the GS end stood up in anticipation.

Seems clear that Koeman got the heads up on the Barca deal and thought it'd be useless intergrating him further into our plans.
He'll do well in Spain. I'm sure I read if Barca activate this clause the have to keep him for 12 months. So they must have ideals on him playing.
£12m is not the best deal though, in reality, he's probably worth more than that. Previous regime screws us.

If this is true I'm absolutely made up for the lad, he gets to go back to the club he loves. He did us no wrong , was at times a delight to watch, just wasn't robust enough for our league, sadly.
If he has to leave, I hope he comes back here and plays. So while disappointed if true, it's got a silver lining for me. I'd look forward to seeing him live regularly if he manages to reach even half of the potential he had/has.

we only paid 4 million for him i guess but you're right, in the current market he's worth much more. Can Barca loan him out again or do they have to keep him in the squad for a year?

Don't think Barca could activate the clause if he didn't want to leave or we didn't want to sell. Also think their possible renewed interest in him doesn't pre-date his performances for Milan and selection for his national side.
