Do Barca still have a buy back clause ?

Yes this is the final year and its around £12mill I think. But they cant just activate it and re-sell at a profit. Under the terms of the deal, if Barca recall him he has to go into their first team squad for a year - which is pointless for them if they see no use for him.

Plus there are rumours they have to sell a few before they can buy so spending £12mill on Geri would be a waste, unless their new manager is a huge fan

They would probably buy him back and loan him to Milan with an agreement Milan would pay them £15m or something less than what we'd accept. But that's a lot of hassle for a couple of million gain

As someone who grew up on football in the 90s it's absolutely baffling that starts for AC Milan and is massively liked by their fans but is not good enough to get in our matchday squad. Mental how things change.

I'd love it to work out for Geri with us but tbf the lads at an absolute giant of the game right now and starting every match, it'll be hard to see him stay to try and prove himself in the prem.

Milan aren't the power house of old but they are still an iconic name in world football. Sadly Italian football as a whole isn't what it was and the league is pretty poor but it seems to suits Geri game and fair play to him, he's taking his chance and deserves credit for that. No doubting he's a special talent. It would be great to get him back and flying next season but i just don't think the Prem suits him.

Definitely mate, it's just a mental turnaround!
We were so bad all through my childhood, even when we were good it was still 'dogs of war' no pretty football (except for Kanchelskis got a season). I used to watch the Italian league on channel 4 and wish I saw that in the royal blue.

Don't think they can. He has to stay in their main squad and/or first team for the entire season. I don't think they can loan him out.

Milan fans seem to be impressed by his work rate and tracking back.

Strange bunch, the Italians.
Don't normally watch Italian football but I've been keeping my eye on how he's doing. He isn't doing that much different to what he was with us tbh and his fitness levels certainly haven't improved a all from what I can see.

If Milan fans are happy with what he's producing then I think that's just a sad indictment of how far they've fallen. And that they are more accepting of flair players than we are in this country.

Would love him to come back and tear it up in the premier league next season, but I just don't think it's suited to him. If we can end up with a decent fee out of Milan that we can spend on a player more suited to our style under Koeman, then I'll take that.

But when players like Bolasie cost around £25 million if we sell Geri for around £10 million does it help us that much ?

£12m for Del, £8m for Cleverly and maybe £8m or so for Niasse gives us a decent amount to get a couple of good additions in.

None of the 3 mentioned were contributing.

No it doesn't, but I'm not going to write off Bolasie just on the dozen or so games he played for us before he got injured. Plus £10m for Geri is a bit on the low side in the current market. I'd hope for around £15m.

Plus in 12 starts and 8 substitute appearances this season, Geri has got 1 goal and 3 assists, all in Serie A. Bolasie has 1 goal and 4 assists in 12 starts.

I'm a Deulefeu fan, but the fact remains that he hasn't performed for us for over a year, under both Koeman and Martinez before him. Plus he looked woefully out of condition when I've seen him this season, and still does if I'm being honest.
