Gerard Deulofeu

He needed to realise that his biggest assist isn't just his pace but his brain.

Last season the amount of assist he created and credited with wasn't down to just running and hitting and hoping but his intelligence to find the right ball.

I don't think having Coleman behind him helps because Seamus compared to Baines, lacks that creative element from a wing back.

He is only 22, a great talent and he has worked on his all round game.

I think if we can build a more direct pressing squad which I think Koeman wants, he will get his chances if he wants it.

Ronaldo was 18 when he joined United and he didn't really kick on until 3 seasons in. I don't think he will become the new Ronaldo but he could become a very important player for us in the couple of months and hopefully years.

Sadly his stats for the club read like a C- : Good but must improve

Reminds me more of Bale than Ronaldo.

Before Bale turned into a machine, the season or two prior when he made people notice he used his pace. Basically kick and run football until he bulked up and learned to use his skill with more impact

No reason to see Del edging towards that type of player if developed well.

You missed out

"6/7 managers have lashed him out and slated him"

Enrique loaned him out and sold him because the competition for Del's place was...er...Messi. Emery didn't like him and told him he needed to pull himself together. Martinez loved him enough to sign him twice and then went slightly mental and dropped him when he was playing incredibly in the season he got sacked. Koeman doesn't seem to fancy him but we don't know what will happen in the future.

7 managers publicly slated him? Did his dog bark at you or something? Your posting history is pathetic.

Which one is it? 6 or 7?

Care to name them all?
Tata stated the facts, pep, martinez, emery, lopetegui said he has major issues, tito vilanova, del bosuqe said he has issues that he needs to overcome, soon to be Koeman

so yeah...
Barca even kept hold of MUNIR, SANDRO AND ADAMA instead of him lol
We arent in 2010 anymore, hes no longer got potential. People need to face the fact that super duper Deulofeu is a joke.

Emery "Make him play with teammates on a big pitch and its hard"

If you want to build a solid TEAM which isnt full of individuals then just get rid of this waste of space.
Ive been a fan of his since his Barca juvenil days but he's beyond pathetic now
If you think he's good enough to for a team that wanna win trophies then you're part of the problem

Massive lol at you bringing up managers who didn't start him for Barca and Spain when he was 18 as evidence that he's a 'waste of space'. Take your campaign elsewhere

@fcbarca ?

Tata ?
Juvenil ?

You seem rather misguided.

With real ambitions of competing in the Europa league next year as well as having a run at 4th place, selling a player of Del's calibre would be crazy.

All wingers are inconsistent but when he is on form he is the best that we have.

Should be on free kick duties as well.

Plenty of boys on here are continually telling us, correctly I suspect, that if Rom and Ross had better players around them they would thrive.

Well I think this applies in spades for Gerald.

Given a proper run in the team with all these super players we are signing come next month, Del will make 2017 his own

If there's one player I'd love to really come good for us it's Deloufeu, for a winger I think he has it all its just a matter of putting it together and being consistant (we have a few like that) I remember when Middlesbrough had Juniho and he took the league by storm, del style reminds me of him. I loved that goal he scored against Arsenal in his first spell here and I think if the team as a whole get more constant del will do to, that also applies to Barkley. These players will not figure every game untill the core of the team is sorted, there are slight signs now the tide could be turning and adding in January should push that on further. I just hope Koeman sticks with these players as I'm sure they will become very good for us.

He is so, so dangerous. He's the type of player you wince when you see they are playing against you. But he doesn't lids, he plays for us.

I have said, from the moment I first saw him, that Deulofeu will be absolute world class...perhaps even top of the pile Messi-like good. Still find it hard to comprehend that Everton have him, Spain's under 21 captain FFS!. If Rom and Barkley and del get in sync, Everton could rip this whole league apart.

I was a bit unsure whether or not we were going to get the old GD back after Barca gave him away to us for £4.5m.

Tonight was evidence enough that when he gets up to full speed he will be one the top providers of assists in the PL. His crossing is second to no-one.

He's reminding me more and more of Kanchelskis in his pomp. Just needs to add the goals, which will in time will come.

if he started most games he'd bee in the running for the top assists in the premier league easily. Unlike the Silvas and Cazorlas though Deulofeu is just lethal with his crosses and drag backs. Had Barkley finished better, or Galloway made something of that ball on the back post you're looking at what could easily have been 4 assists in an away game against a good defense in a game we've not played particularly well in. Performances like this and the Barnsley one show he has undoubtedly increased his end product. Any where he picks the ball up on the right flank he seems to be able to shape a ball to go across the 6 yard line, these balls are virtually indefensible unless you close the cross down and defenders are wary to do that because Del can do them for pace down the line. He could turn out to be an unbelievable buy.

Thought Everton Musings described it well

Deulofeu, matching bags of ability with excellent vision, playing a ball between three West Brom defenders perfectly into Barkley’s run. The ex-Barcelona man could peel an orange with his right foot.

He doesn’t really have any right to envision playing this ball along the deck, let alone have the confidence to try it, but to execute it? Star quality from the exciting youngster. Barkley just didn’t get his feet right and skewed the ball wide, having probably had time for a touch. Half an hour in, and it’s no coincidence that the best moments of the game so far involve Barkley and Deulofeu, with Everton having countered with speed and purpose.

His dipping technique on the ball is something this league doesn't have enough of. It's so difficult to defend

That through ball for Lukaku; world class. Just perfect. Great game from the lad

He's definitely magic like.

I only dream we keep hold of our young guns to really achieve something. Best crop of youngsters in one go I can remember at this club in a long long time.

That pass for lukaku's goal. Sublime

I loved him the first time he was here, but just how much does he get his head up now, really shows his desire to get better, the lad is a real talent, the anti-naismith

Literally three minutes of clicking on random pages of this thread from the 3-4 months last season where he was actually allowed to play regularly. He can be so, so good if he's just allowed to settle in a team.

Would love to see how he fits in once this entire team gets settled into a style of play that works for them. For Chelsea it didn't take much of a tweak to get them going in the run of form they're in currently. With us it might take a while longer. Would love to see him fit in to whatever system that may be. Loads of potential and I'm sure it's all been said before but we should hang onto him.

If that were the case, he'd play.
