If Del wasn't already an Everton player wouldn't we be creaming our pants at the prospect of signing Spain's U21 Captain with the most U21 caps and leading goal scorer at that level? A player apparently being pursued by Barcelona? If Koeman doesn't want him then I'll back our manager, but is it not possible that a player of his talent and still so young could still turn out to be a top talent?

Instead we are getting super excited by the possibility of Sandro, a Barcelona reject (they could surely afford his £5.2million release clause if they wanted him back) who hasn't scored for Spain's U21 and scored half as many goals for Barcelonas B team in a similar number of games to Del?

I don't know what to make of this one. Had one of the best crosses in the game, but he hasn't grown enough as a player to command a regular spot. Good news for him is at Barca he won't need to do too much because he is surrounded by world class players on the pitch. Barca were probably scared that he would have a breakout season, so they triggered the clause while they could still get him back cheap. Bitter-sweet

No mate because at 23 it's not possible to grow another lung

I beg to differ, I reckon most of our sqaid were blowing after 60 minutes under Martinez' tutelage, Koeman seems to have sorted that without intrusive transplant surgery or genetic modification?

Deulofeu is not being brought back to Barcelona to play in the first team, not long term at least.
He is being brought back because they know that if they don't it is Everton that will make big profit on the player rather than Barca.

They will be able to give him enough games because of all the competitions they are in and will probably sell him on next summer.

Dude put in some great performances for us and gave us a pretty lengthy montage of awesome goals and chance creation. Sure he wasn't consistent and he looked like he was playing the game 8000 feet more above sea level than the other 21 people on the pitch, but he's young, and almost all young players have gaps like that (particularly his consistency). His floor is super sub and we know what it looks like to be outgunned off the bench. We will miss him - just a matter of how much.
