Gerard Deulofeu

Nice that he remembers his time with us so fondly.

“Now that I’ve had to pause, I can see how big my career was and is,” he says. “I’m really proud. I came from Barcelona: people can see that and maybe say you could have been more successful, but you have to appreciate I already played for Barça, Milan, won the Europa League with Sevilla, played in the Champions League, played for the national team and scored, reached the FA Cup final with Watford. OK, of course it can be better but that’s just ‘maybe, maybe’. What can I demand more from my career than all this?”

Probably wants to block out the memory of a certain Joseph six six esquire, referring to him every week as Dalafoo (amongst other names)

A wonderful talent who has been ruined by injuries. Fond memories of him at Goodison. That goal vs Arsenal. Destroying Stoke at Goodison. A couple of sublime crosses for Lukaku vs West Brom in a 3-2 comeback win.

A bit inconsistent and had stamina issues, but for a period looked to have matured well at Watford, but I think got him there.
I think his first game for us was as a half time sub in a derby. We went in behind, came out a different team with him running riot, finished 3-3 after us getting 3-2 in front late on. He also missed a great chance v City in the League cup semi second leg right at the start of the second half that would have put us ahead 1-2 on the night.
