Just saw an article about him online and it reminded me how boss he was. Watching him (and Stoitchkov, and Maradona off his tits) was the best part of the 94 world cup for me

Was he not good for Real and Barca? Only ever saw him for Romania really.

He showed his talent but as I say was fairly inconsistant. Was never a true great at club level in Spain

If I remember correctly Barça signed him from Brescia after the 94 WC. I believe he was pretty good there and obviously in Rumania.

Maybe not being the main man at Madrid and Barça took something away from his performances.
