I've saved Stuart Pearce a job and picked the squad for him:

1. Foster (West Brom/England)- Overage
2. Kelly (Liverpool/England)
3. Taylor (Swansea/Wales)
4. Richards (Man City/England)
5. Smalling (Man Utd/England)
6. Allen (Swansea/Wales)
7. Beckham (LA Galaxy/England)- Overage
8. Ramsey (Arsenal/Wales)
9. Rhodes (Huddersfield/Scotland)
10. Fletcher (Wolves/Scotland)- Overage
11. Bale (Spurs/Wales)
12. Amos (United/England)
13. Cathcart (Blackpool/N. Ireland)
14. Rose (Spurs/England)
15. Hanley (Blackburn/Scotland)
16. Ferguson (Newcastle/N. Ireland)
17. Albrighton (Villa/England)
18. Henderson (Liverpool/England)
19. Sinclair (Swansea/England)
20. Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal/England)
21. Gosling (Newcastle/England)
22. Goodwillie (Blackburn/Scotland)
23. Taylor (Rotherham/Wales)

The main decisions are in goal and which overage players to choose. There is a dirth of quality keepers under the age of 23, so you have to pick a full international. The first choices for Wales (Hennessey), Scotland (Gilks) and Northern Ireland (Camp) are hardly inspiring. Pearce could choose someone like Stockdale or Rudd but a top-class and inform 'keeper can make all the difference, so you have to look at trying to persuade someone like Ben Foster or Paul Robinson to end their self-imposed exile.

There are lots of options to choose from up front, depending on who is left out of England's Euro 2012 squad. You could go for Holt, Crouch, Zamora or Defoe. I think that they're all limited in their own way though and that Fletcher has the best all-round game.

It would be nice to include Scholes, Joe Cole or Giggs but we have good, young players available in midfield and we are short in other areas. I would include Beckham though because I think he would lift and unite the squad.

Cathcart and Ferguson are token inclusions to appease the Northern Irish fans. Other possibles include Gunter, Clyne, Naughton, Wilson, Gibbs (if fit), Bertrand, Cleverley (if fit), Spearing and Matt Phillips.

_________Foster
Kelly Richards Smalling Taylor
_Beckham Allen Ramsey Bale
______Rhodes Fletcher

i reckon hennessey may get the keeper spot, i would rather see myhill 1st choice for wales but tbf to hennessey, he's had a very good season. Foster is a very solid keeper though. would have the ox in there ahead of rhodes maybe, with either ox or bale playing behind the striker, should be a team good enough to get to the semis

I reckon he's injured for 6 months.

ah right, didnt realise it was that long, count him out. Bellamy might be a notable inclusion for the overage players aswell, but he doesnt seem to be playing much 90 mins atm, so they may see it is pointless
