Gary Speed found dead

Well that thread title does exactly what it says on the tin.

He was given a lot of unfair stick after he left
by our fans in my opinion but he was a good
captain, proud Evertonian and seemed a really nice fella.

My thoughts are with his family, rest in peace Gary.
 
Actually can't believe that :o suicide apparently! Possibly the most shocking event I can remember in football. RIP.
 

Wow, shocking news. Liked him as a player here, thought he was one of our best in a bad time, when I wasn't able to follow the game so closely. RIP.

Wales football manager Gary Speed died.

His death was confirmed in a statement by the Football Association of Wales.
The statement said: "We extend our sympathies and condolences to the family. We ask that everyone respects the family's privacy at this very sad time."
Speed took over the Wales job in February, and earlier this month, said the side's rapid improvement had exceeded all expectations.

that's shocking. I was tipping him to become the next Everton manager, just bizarre, only 42 and nothing was wrong with him as far as I could see.
