Gago

We didn't have the money at all. Why was it true? Because when the following transfer window opens, we struggle to find money to buy players.

From spanish "As" (Madrid newspapers usually with decent info from Real office):

Not really interested in buying him, but maybe loan would be an option - he probably would try to fight once again for place in Real, yet he needs playing time to secure his spot to WC 2010. But I have my doubts he would be an upgrade over Rodwell, or an quality partner for him - in Spain he lacks a true position: he isn't strong enough to be a DM in Lassana Diarra mould, and his passing game is quite bad for their standards, so he can't play in Xabi Alonso CM role.

Would definitely prefer Banega over him... but this train is already gone.

Keep moaning lad and see where it gets you.... If you can't have something constructive to say, don't say it.

He does have a point though Bill.
Being linked to this calibre of player is all well and good, and appeases fans if there is in fact any genuine link, but the fans are well aware of our finances.
Unless something has happened that the club haven't disclosed, then it would be highly unlikely that we could muster up anything like that figure, especially as there are other positions that need cover, and we may not hit budget this year.
Would be nice though.

Though it doesn't feel like it with our recent injury record and form so far this season we actually have decent players in every position on the pitch now. We have (at least) one fringe international player vieing for each of the eleven places in our starting line-up. I agree with Stinger when he says that he doubts Gago would be much of an improvement on Rodwell.

We may have reached a rather worrying point where the only players who would really improve our first eleven are simply beyond our ability to recruit in our current state.

Nail, Head, Hit.

Moyes is going to have to go back to his bargain buys, cause he's not getting anyine expensive in.

Well no, he really doesn't have a point if you take his whole body of work into account.

Never ever once had something positive to say about our club.

No great loss.
