I have sat /stood around a few eejits with loud mouths over the years as well unfortunately, although I learned some new phrases the time Rooney returned to Goodison in a Utd jersey that turned the air Blue.
What do you make of the possession hurling that seems to be happening now with all the counties?

My late father, a Cavan man hated the use of the handpass in football - he wanted "catch and kick".

I suppose the possession game is similar for hurling fans. I don't think Dublin really overplay it, but I loved their pressing game on Galway.

As long as a game produces plenty of scores, I don't mind, and I don't think hurling suits the Ulster football negative approach of the last decade.

what a comeback by limerick, looked dead and buried at half time. a storming 2nd half performance though they were helped a bit by gillane escaping what looked a clear red card.

desperate sad news broke on saturday morning about the death of monaghan u20 player brendan og duffy in a car crash. brendan had only hours earlier captained his team to victory over donegal in ulster semi final.

Well Hurling experts, penalty or not for Tip ?. I only have a limited knowledge of the game, looked a stupid decision to me.

Definitely not a penalty for Waterford today - still, I think Waterford deserved the win.

Another superb, enthralling hurling match. Next up Tyrone v Monaghan in UFC Final, followed by Dubs v Cork in SHC QF.

Hard to leave the couch this weekend!! I have little interest in the egg chasing but will also keep an eye on that anyway.

They showed a reverse angle view of it during the game and Breen took a swipe at the ankles, very surprised they didn’t show it afterwards.

I’m a Tipp man and they were well beat today, end of an era.

Mrs BR from Cahir, was nearly going through the telly towards the end - our German Shepherd gave up trying to calm her, and went and found a quiet place to hide!

Do the Dubs have any chance against the Rebels?? (We live in exile in Kilkenny BTW!!) lol

Fine win for Waterford. I think the Dublin game this evening, is a potential banana skin for Cork. So i'm not counting any chickens until their hatched. But things are going, very well for Cork at underage level. There seems to be plenty of talent in the county anyway. As for the Cork footballers. Sure the less said the better there.:p Yet another disastrous afternoon at the hands of Kerry, and by god there's been plenty of them through the years! The kingdom will be Dublins biggest threat i think.

Half time score Cork 2-13 Dublin 0-11 Tim O'Mahony and Shane Kingston scored the Cork goals. Corks second goal came right on the verge of half time.

Final score Cork 2-26 Dublin 0-24, with five minutes to go Dublin brought Corks lead down to four points, but thankfully Cork kept their composure, and got the job done in the end. It's Limerick or Kilkenny next in the semi final, and it will take a massive performance from Cork, to beat either the cats or the current all Ireland champions.

No question Cork were the better team, but I was surprised at the stats re possession, tackles etc, and only 8 in it at the end when it seemed like there was much more between them.

Dubs rue the early two goal misses as I forecast as soon as they happened.

Best of luck, but I fancy Waterford this year....they deserve it for all sorts of reasons including getting rid of hat 62 year old monkey !!

Hope Mattie stays on, but he looked a bit fed up this evening.

Limerick v Waterford and Cork v Kilkenny are the semi final pairings. Limerick and Waterford is very much a 50/50 game i think, and from my experience of Cork and Kilkenny matches over the years, the underdog has a habit of winning. The 1999 all Ireland final 2003 all Ireland final 2004 and 2006 all Ireland finals, 2013 and 2019 quarter finals, the winning team was the underdog in all those matches. So it goes to show that when it comes to Cork and Kilkenny, the form book goes out the window!

I decided to watch a non Cork retro gaa match for a change. There's this guy on youtube called Joco Sports, and he's uploaded a ton of matches. I decided to watch the Down and Kerry all Ireland semi final from 1991. That was the day Peter Whitnell rocked the kingdom with two goals. Down had a class team in the early 90's. Of course they were in an all Ireland final 11 years ago, but didn't really build on it. Anyway i would hope that come sunday evening, we'll have a Cork and Waterford all Ireland final to look forward to!

Dont get much chance to crow on this page but last night, for the first time since 1968, we won the Connacht Minor championship beating the Rossies by 5. Fine team this, we missed three goals and should have won by more.

Underage is quite good in Sligo ATM, but we have a lot of work to do in matching Mayo in strength and conditioning between minor and under 20s.

Better days ahead and hopefully the period from 1996 to 2011 will repeat when we were always competitive, won Connacht and had many a massive bender in Croker!!

Suas Slighigh!!!
