Seeing as we have no wingers, use attacking full backs... Arteta and Coleman can work the same magic as pienaar/baines. But midfield generally narrow and technical, pace provided by Beckford up front.

Cahill is a finisher, Mikel is a creator. Playing them level makes no sense, one would either be too far forward or too far back. Or both.

And in your OP, you've got Arteta and Cahill level just behind Beckford. So yes, I think that's not a good idea.

It's not that different to the formation we play now! it just pushes the "wingers" slightly infield and pushes Mikel into the final third.

I mean, let's be honest folks! the final third is where we are really lacking at this moment in time! And since Mikel has been forced to play centrally, his form has generally suffered.

Give him a free-role I say...set him loose...

I'd rather have Cahill as striker as well. I hate it when we put a striker on and drop Cahill back, it makes no sense especially when we are down a goal.

Cahill will score no matter where he is on the field, and Baines will supply him. I say 4-2-3-1, but push 'em up.

I likes the looks of this. Rodwell and Fellaini looked tasty in the middle against Chelsea and maybe switching Arteta to the right would be just the kick up the arse he needs.
