Thanks for showing, I was at the Leeds game and my dad was at the 1935 FA round.

About the leeds game I am not sure if it was the same as this one I also remember perhaps some will on here.

Shirley had the ball and Willie Bell came charging in and damn killed him. The crowd was in uproar and shouting Off, off,off but the ref took no notice. Stretcher came for Shirley. Bell was not even cautioned and the crowd went beserk. The chant ringing round the game was "we wanna a ref" and then the seat cushions I seem to recall started flying. The ref took both teams off the pitch for 10 minutes to defuse the atmosphere. I think that was the first a ref had done that in league football. The crowd though remained in a bad mood.
 
That was a different game against Leeds, in the league at Goodison 3 or 4 seasons earlier. Bobby Collins was playing for Leeds by then.
