I thought Michael Ball could make a return as a spare Left back if its on a free transfer but according to wikipedia:

at the end of January 2009 Ball had an knee operation on his left patella tendon, will be out of action for 7-12 months.

So he might not be fit at present...

If fit enough he'd have been useful experienced cover at both left-back & centre-back, although I'll not be unhappy if Moyes brings in better.

Sol Cambell wants to much money, just like Lucas Neill, Ball in out till November i`ve heard so hopefully for his sake he can get fit and find a new club then, as i like the lad, and we owe him, because Everton are to blame for his knee injuries, the lad played through the pain barrier with pain killing injections, at the end of his time with us.(Well done Walter )
