I remember when my dad bought me my favourite pair of football boots at school, aged 12 (Beckenbauer Supers).

Yeah he was an 1860 fan. Was all set to join them with a bunch of other players in his youth team but played 1860 in the final of a tournament a few weeks before he was set to join them and got into a fight with their team so jibbed them off.

RIP “Der Keizer”. For me personally the second most fascinating footballer to watch after Diego Maradona. So ahead of his time, could you imagine what his transfer fee would stand at in modern times. Visionary of a footballer and a gentleman to boot.
