This is why those pointing to the table and thinking the blue flares and a new manager will get us safe are sadly deluded. To even get the new manager and weaponise the fanbase, you need to act quickly and there is a void at the heart of the club. We cannot even get the simple bit done promptly. I mean, appointing a suitable manager IS the hard bit. The sacking is the easy one. We're utterly devoid of hope.
I think you are mistaking "should" for "will" and also misunderstanding people respecting the man versus actually thinking he deserves more time.
I don't think he will be sacked and I respect him a lot. But I do think he should be sacked and I think he has already been given too much time.

How can you not have respect for Lampard. He was one of the best English midfielders of his generation. He's been in the game a long time and will know far more about football than anyone that ever posts or reads this forum. Just because his management skills may not be the right fit for Everton doesn't mean he doesn't deserve respect. I absolutely believe he is giving 100% to try and get the best out of the Everton team but whatever he's doing, it's not working.
I don't want him to be Everton manager any more but I definitely respect him.
I don't think it's that unusual to like someone but also think they are doing a very bad job
