Newcastle have to be the model now. I would argue that our squad is better than the squad Howe inherited when he took over and he lifted them primarily with good coaching.

We need to get someone in who can coach this lot. Do that and I'm sure we'll move up the table to safety in no time.

To have any chance of saving himself, he needed 2-3 players ready to sign 1st Jan, to give himself a boost, the players a boost and the fans a boost.

Instead, we've gone 4 games and chucked them all away and his position is untenable. He really should have done what the board have done to everyone and chucked the lot of them under a bus....then asked the bus driver to reverse over them gor good measure.

Annoying thing is there wasn’t much in the game today or last week. Two forwards instead of Gray and Iwobi and a wingback(s) who can support the attack and we could easily have got something from the games. All too late, the calvary arriving after the battle and that’s squarely on the board tying our hands in the market.

Rooney did a relatively good but ultimately unsuccessful job at a championship club. He should not even be on the long list nevermind the short one.

I'd have to disagree he was in charge of a team that was an even bigger sh1tshow than we are. Had most of his best players sold from under him and effectively had to play with loans and youth through a season that they started on -21 which to be honest to survive under those conditions would have been a miracle. If they hadn't started on -21 he would have saved a club that shouldn't have been saved he did a good job under very difficult conditions.

Well the board didn't get him a proper replacement for Richy, and they didn't sign anyone so far this January either.

Never thought I'd stick up for Benitez but when you hear Lampard making excuses about investment- Lampard got 8 players in the summer, presumably he had a hand in that. Benitez got 1.7m to spend and had a horrendous run of injuries to contend with, and his record was better.

It was right Benitez went but I don't want to hear excuses for / from Lampard.
